Project Background

The Pink Scooty Scheme by SMTA aims to empower women by providing them with free or subsidized pink scooters. This initiative primarily targets college-going students, young professionals, and women entrepreneurs who need safe, reliable, and affordable transport to pursue education, work, or creative ventures. This version of the project specifically promotes "Women Create Content" — enabling beneficiaries to document their lives, journeys, and community impact through short videos, blogs, and social media storytelling.

Case Study

This case study follows a group of young women in tier-2 cities who received scooters under the SMTA Pink Scooty Scheme. With better access to mobility, they not only continued education and job activities but also became digital storytellers — creating content around women’s safety, self-reliance, and entrepreneurship. Their content now features in local campaigns, YouTube shorts, and government digital media.
